WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The target audience for this educational activity is nurse practitioners and physician assistants who specialize in dermatology. Dermatologists and other clinicians who are members of the healthcare team providing care for patients with psoriasis may benefit from participation in this educational activity.

Leading dermatology/rheumatology faculty and a patient presenter will lead us through changes in the psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis landscape via an interactive program featuring TED Talk-style presentations, patient storytelling, and a faculty panel discussion. We’ll focus on advances in the clinical areas of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, as well as how these advances introduce changes in the lives of people suffering from psoriatic disease, the increased complexity of care, and changes in routine clinical practice due to new, increasingly efficacious treatments. The workshop will conclude with key teaching points and a Q&A session. Afterwards, participants will be able to download references and additional resources via a link included in the workshop syllabus.

As a result of participation in this educational activity, participants should increase their
ability to:

2.

Screen patients with psoriasis for psoriatic arthritis at each visit.

4.

Utilize practical treatment

considerations for patients
with challenging comorbidities.

5.

Coordinate care with rheumatology providers and other healthcare providers who treat patients with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

1.

Discuss new and emerging treatments for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

3.

Reflect on recommendations from the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA) for treatment of psoriatic arthritis.
